CONSENSUS BASED PROCESS
The Working Group strived to
make its decisions by consensus. Consensus is a process used to reach
the highest level of agreement without dividing the participants into
factions. The areas of agreement reached by the Working Group
represent the achievement of consensus.
Working Group members
expressed their own opinion on issues that were being decided upon whether
they agreed with the consensus or not. In the event that a consensus
could not be reached, the Working Group attempted to apply a different decision making
process for the specific issue. |

OBJECTIVES FOR THE WORKING GROUP
Final Revised Revision 03/18/04
Goal Statement: To
create a plan for Goleta Beach County Park which is sustainable over more
than 20 years taking into account long-term environmental change.
Objectives:
-
Recreation – Maintain and
enhance active and passive recreational opportunities for all segments of
the community.

Natural Resources – Protect and
enhance natural resources at the park and in adjacent area.
-
Access – Provide adequate
vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian access to Goleta Beach County Park.
-
Educational Opportunities –
Provide educational opportunities for visitors to learn about resources at
Goleta Beach County Park and adjacent areas.
